A team of Year 6 girls competed against schools from Leeds is a rugby competition. They scored some great tries and made it to the quarter finals. Well played Year 6!
11.7.19 Valley View
Congratulations to Poland who were the overall winners of our Sports Day. During the day the children competed in a variety of races to earn points for their teams. Our Wake and Shake team led the warm ups and Gym Club and the Cheerleaders performed brilliantly. Year 6 sport leaders did a fantastic job helping organise the event. Well done to everybody involved, including the grown ups who had a go in the parents/carers races!
Leeds West Academy 4.7.19
A team of children from Year 5 played in a friendly rounders competition with some local schools. Their skills improved over the evening and they won their last game. Well played Year 5.
John Charles Centre for Sport 25.6.19
Despite the rain our teams performed brilliantly at this years event. They ran, jumped and threw with great enthusiasm and determination. Cheered on by our amazing cheerleaders our team won the competition again! Congratulations to everybody involved.
Year 6 Golf
Leeds West Academy 20.6.19
A team of children from Year 6 played golf against local schools. They learnt a lot of new skills and scored a lot of points! This was a new event for most of the children and they represented Valley View very well.

Two teams from Year 5 and Year 6 competed in this huge competition with teams from across the city. Both teams performed well and one team got all the way to the quarter finals! Well played teams.
Year 2 Skipping Festival
Pudsey Leisure Centre 18.6.19
A team of children fro Year 2 competed in a skipping competition against local schools. They performed brilliantly to win some silver and bronze awards. Well done Year 2!
Year 4 Cricket

Two teams of children from Year 4 played in a friendly competition with schools from West Leeds. It was the first time most of the children had played competitive cricket. They played well and represented the school brilliantly. Well played Year 4!
Year 5/6 Cricket
New Farnley Cricket Club 5.6.19
A team of children from Year 5/6 played in a tournament T New Farnley with 11 local schools. The team played some fantastic cricket to win four out of their 5 games! Well played team.
Year 2 Multiskills
Leeds West Academy 23.5.19
Ten children from Year 2 went to Leeds West Academy with local schools to try out some multiskills activities. They worked through a carousal of throwing, running and jumping activities. They had a great time and we are very proud of how well they represented the school in their first ever Valley View Event!
Year 6 Netball
Pudsey Grangefield 23.4.19
Our Year 6 netball team played in a big competition at Pudsey Grangefield. It was the first time the team had played together in a competition. They won and drew their all games and narrowly missed out on a place in the semi finals. Well played!
John Charles Centre for Sport 22.5.19
A group of children from Year 6 experienced a mini triathlon organised by the Brownlee Foundation. They swam 50m, cycled 800m and ran 400m. They had a fabulous time and all received a medal and t-shirt!
Year 6 Rugby City Finals

Our rugby team had the honour of competing in the city finals with the best teams from across the city. They qualified from the group stages and after an incredibly close game they got knocked out in the quarter finals. The team that narrowly beat them (in extra time) went on to win the competition. A fantastic performance!

So many children wanted to take part in the cricket competition at Leeds West we took 3 teams! All our teams played some great cricket. We won four of the six games we played.

A new team of children from Years 5 and 6 played in a friendly competition at Leeds West. They played some great football over the evening and represented the school well. We were very impressed with their attitude and enthusiasm. Well played team!
Year 4 football

A team of Year 4 children had a great time at the competition at Leeds West. This was the first ever football competition for the team. They worked hard and showed great team spirit to win and draw some of their games. Well played Year 4!

A team of Year 5 children played against local schools at Leeds West. Their teamwork was amazing! They scored some fantastic goals and finished the competition in 2nd place. Well played Year 5!

Stanningley Rugby Club 16.4.19
Two teams played in a rugby competition at Stanningley. Both teams played some fantastic rugby and scored some great tries. One of the teams qualified for the City Finals in May. Fantastic!
Year 5/6 Football
Goals Football Centre 28.3.19
Our Year 5/6 football team played the last league competition of the season at Goals. They played 6 matches and won four! They played some excellent football and we are very proud to tell you they won the league! They will now go forward to represent our cluster to find the best team in West Leeds in another competition.
Tennis Y3, Y4 and Y6.Armley Tennis Club 26.3.19
A group of children from Key Stage 2 participated in a tennis event at Armley Tennis Club. They tried out lots of tennis related activities by completing a circuit. They represented Valley View brilliantly and learnt a lot about tennis!

A team of children from Year 4 played tag rugby against local schools. They had a great time and played some fabulous rugby. They won some of their games and learnt a lot over the evening. Well played Year 4!
Wake and Shake
Leeds West Academy 14.3.19
Two teams of children from Year 5 performed in a competition at Leeds West. Both teams have been working very hard in the PE sessions to make up the routines. After two fantastic performances in a very close competition our final routine was announced as the winner. Fantastic! We are very proud of both teams and the way the represented the school.
Nunroyd Park Yeadon 12.3.19
A team of Year 3 and Year 5 children tried out orienteering against local schools on a very wet and muddy course! This was the first time the children had ever competed in this type of event and they represented the school brilliantly. A special well done goes to the Year 3 team who finished in 4th place out of 12 teams. Well done to everybody involved!
Year 4 Cross Country
Temple Newsham 6.3.19
Our Year 4 team had the honour of representing the city of Leeds in the West Yorkshire Games at Temple Newsham. This event brought together the best runners from Bradford, Calderdale, Bradford and Leeds. The standard was incredibly high and each race had around 130 children competiting. Our team performed brilliantly in the wet and muddy conditions. We are so proud of the way they represented both the school and the city. Well done girls!
Year 5/6 Football
Leeds West Academy 28.2.19
Our football team played their final 4 league games at Leeds West. They performed brilliantly to draw one and win three games. This means they have finished the league competition in first place. Very well played team!
Year 4 Dodgeball

A team of children from Year 4 played in a friendly dodgeball competition at Leeds West against local schools. This was our first dodgeball competition ever and the children represented the school brilliantly. Well dodged Year 4!
Year 4 Cross country
Temple Newsham 6.2.19
Our Year 4 cross country teams competed in the City Finals at Temple Newsham to find the best teams in the whole of Leeds. Both teams performed very well and completed the course with great determination. A special well done goes to the girls who finished in 3rd position. They will now go on to represent the city of Leeds in the West Yorkshire Games. What a fantastic achievement! Well done both teams!

Our Year 6 netballers continued the league competition at Leeds West. They played 2 games, winning one and drawing one. Well played girls!
Armley Leisure Centre 31.1.19
A team of 8 children from Key Stage 2 competed in a multiskills event at Armley Leisure Centre. Ten schools from West Leeds entered the competition. Each team carried out a variety of throwing, catching and aiming events to score points for their team. When all the points were added up we finished in second place as runners up. What a fantastic achievement. We are very proud of our team!
Year 6 Netball
Leeds West Academy 24.1.19
Our Year 6 netball team played their first league games of the season. They played their first three games. Their skills improved greatly over the evening and we are looking forward to playing more matches next week. Well played girls!
'Road to Wembley' Football Competition
Thorph Arch 23.1.19
Our Year 5/6 football team gave up their Training Day to represent Valley View at the City Final of this competition. They played against the best teams from Leeds to find the Leeds champions to go forward to the next round. Although we didn't win the competition we are very proud of our boys. They competed very well at this level and only lost 1-0 to the winning team in a very close competition. Well played boys!
Year 4/5 Tennis
Leeds West Academy 17.1.19
A team of children from Years 3 and 4 played in a friendly tennis competition at Leeds West. For most of the team it was the first time they had ever played a tennis match. Their tennis skills improved tremendously over the evening. Although we didn't win the competition overall, we did win quite a few matches. Well played team!

The Road to Thorph Arch football competition
Our Key Stage 1 football team had a fantastic day out at Thorph Arch. After winning their area competition they went on to play the other area winners in the finals. They played some amazing football, winning the final 4-2. They are now officially the best Key Stage 1 team in the city! Brilliant!

A team of girls played in a friendly competition at Leeds West. They worked hard and played well as a team. The girls won, drew and lost their games, ending up in second position. Well played girls!
Year 6 Aquathlon
Armley Leisure Centre 14.12.18
A team of children from Year 6 competed in our first ever Aquathlon at Armley. Each member of the team had to swim 50m and run 50m. All the scores were then added up to give a team total. The children performed brilliantly, especially with the running. We enjoyed this new event and we are looking forward to competing in it again!
Year 4 Handball

A team of children from Year 4 played our first ever handball event at Leeds West. They played some exciting games against local schools, scoring lots of goals and defending brilliantly. We are looking forward to playing more handball in the future! Well played Year 4.

A team of children competed in the 'Road to Wembley' competition. The team played some amazing football to win the competition! They are now through to the City Finals at Thorph Arch. The winners from Thorph Arch will go through to compete in the northern final and the winners from there will play in at Wembley. Good Luck team!

A team of children from Years 4-6 played in a friendly golf event at Armley Leisure Centre. They gained lots of stickers for the fantastic golf and represented Valley View really well. Well done golfers!
Year 6 Netball

Our Year 6 netball club visited Summerfield to play some friendly games and practise some skills. They had a great time learning more about the game and made some new friends too! Well played to both schools!
Key Stage 1 Football
Football World 16.11.18
A team of children from Year 1 and 2 competed in a competition organised by Leeds United. It was the first ever Valley View event for the children and they performed brilliantly. They won all of their games and are now through to the final after Christmas. This will be very exciting as it is going to be played at Thorp Arch where Leeds United train! Well played team!
Year 5 Football

A team of Year 5 children played in a competition organised by the Leeds Rhinos over 2 weeks. The children played some great football and we were very impressed with their tackling and goalkeeping. Well played Year 5.
Leeds West 15.11.18
A group of children from Year 6 tries out some different sports at Leeds West. This included boccia, golf, curling and goalball. They had a great time and represented Valley View brilliantly.
Our athletics team competed against local schools at Priesthorpe. The team performed brilliantly in a very close competition. We were incredibly impressed with their hurdling and javelin throwing! The team finished in 2nd position overall. A great result, well done team!
Middleton Park 7.11.18
A team of Year 4 boys and Year 4 girls competed in a huge cross country competition in Middleton Park. Despite the very rainy weather both teams performed brilliantly to complete the very muddy course. Both teams narrowly missed out on first position and finished in second place. This means both teams have qualified for the City Final in February! We are very proud - well done teams!

Our football team played their first four league matches of the season at Leeds West. They played some fantastic football to win 2 games and draw 2 games. The league resumes after Christmas with our team at the top! Well played team.

A team of children from Year 6 represented Valley View in a friendly event at Leeds West. It was the first time the children had ever competed in an indoor athletics event. They had a great time and impressed us with their fantastic running, jumping and throwing. Well done team!

A group of children from Year 5 and Year 6 competed in a friendly athletics competition with 3 local schools. It was the first time any of the children had been involved in indoor athletics. They all ran, jumped and threw brilliantly and we are looking forward to more Sports Hall Athletic events later in the term.

Twenty six children from Years 4-6 competed in a friendly cross country competition at Leeds West with local schools. All our children tackled the long courses with lots of determination and resilience. We had some amazing performances! Well done to everybody involved!

Six teams of children from Year 4-6 competed in a competition at New Farnley. All the children showed great determination to complete the long courses. We are proud of everybody who ran for representing the school so well. Our Year 4 boys team and Year 4 girls team came first and second in their events! We also had four children who won medals for finishing in the top 3 in their races. Well done!!
