Responsibility and Citizenship
We believe that a vital part of learning at school is learning about citizenship and responsibility. We give children different levels of responsibility at different ages and in this way see our children grow and develop.
Our school has a school council with representatives from most classes. The council meets on a regular basis and make decisions about aspects of the school. Recently the school council have decided on the areas that the school should focus on in regards to how we can help the planet and reduce climate change. They have also decided which charities our Harvest donations should go to.
Children who wish to act as councillor for their class are asked to nominate themselves and then their class are encouraged to choose someone who can express the views of their peers.
